On Oct. 16th, Daniel Taub, the Director-General of the Legal Division of the Israeli MFA spoke at the law faculty of the University of Toronto. The topic was “International Law and Conflict,” and Dr. Taub skillfully put forward Israel’s case and problematic position when facing enemies who do not bind themselves by principles of international law. The event was particularly interesting given Dr. Taub’s responsibility as one of the key Israeli spokespeople concerning the Goldstone Report. The event was co-sponsored by Canadian Academics for Peace in the Middle East and the UofT Jewish Law Students Association.
