On Wednesday, January 27, the Guelph Jewish Student Organization and Israeli Affairs Committee held a lunch-time celebration of Tu B’Shevat. Students had the opportunity to learn about Tu B’Shevat and the work of the JNF in Israel, as well as participate in the Tu B’Shevat tradition of eating traditional Israeli fruits. Falafel was sold to raise funds for both the JNF and Israid’s relief efforts in Haiti. Close to $200 was raised for these causes.
